Our 1st Family Vacation

This project was a big one, our first family vacation, and it was wonderful, challenging, important and simply incredible. We survived hours in airports and more than 11 hours on airplanes, each way. Campbell was a trooper and is honestly a great traveler. Simon is the greatest Dad and husband, and I can't imagine having to travel half way around the world at 9 months pregnant with a one year old alone, or with anyone else. Some reflections:
  • The most useful item packed was a roll of duct tape to baby-proof the hotel rooms.
  • The hardest part of the trip was when Campbell came down with a croup cough.
  • The highlight was seeing everyone fall in love with Campbell.
  • The most delightful time was showing Campbell the ponies on the moor.
All in all, I'd do it all over again in a heart beat. BUT it was hard at times. I greatly appreciate the day care we send Campbell to three days a week. And I'm so glad we went BEFORE baby #2 arrives, I can't even imagine surviving the trip with two babies!
