Bye-Bye Stuff

Here goes nothing... I am sick of all the stuff in my house and I am going to get rid of it. Starting with my wardrobe. Goodbye mountain of laundry!

This will be my system:
A minimum closet (a moderate version). I will start with my own clothes, then move on to the boys. I will be allowed:
    • No more than four of anything I wear all the time.
    • No more than two of something I wear less often.
    • Two purses.
    • I may have as many bras and panties as I desire (whew).
    • Everything must be able to mix and match.
    • I must be able to fit it ALL in one suitcase (eek!)
So that translates to (besides I am crazy):
    • 2 cocktail dresses ( 1 black & 1 color)
    • 2 work out pants, shorts, tops
    • 4 pairs of jeans, slacks, skirts
    • 2 long skirts
    • 2 formal dresses
    • 4 dress shirts
    • 4 suits
    • 4 short sleeve shirts
    • 4 long sleeve shirts
    • 2 sweaters
    • 2 jackets
    • 2 purses: 1 day, 1 night
How I will choose:
    • In a bag/box, I will put anything that: doesn’t fit, has a stain/hole, that hasn’t been worn in over a month, that needs dry cleaning (except for the suits), or that doesn’t match a predetermined color scheme.
I will put it all in my garage until I have the guts to sell it or give it to goodwill.

So exciting!

  1. So, how did it go?

Well, I cut down my wardrobe to a manageable inventory and them my Mom sent up a bunch of clothes that she picked out for me for my birthday (so sweet of her!). Another friend donated a couple bags of cute clothes that she thought might fit me. All I bought was a pair of flats and a pair of flip flops, but I threw out two pairs of shoes first. But, before I knew it, my pile was back.

The good news is that I didn't miss any of the clothes I bagged up and put in the garage. However, I'm going to have to go through all my clothes again, and let the majority of them hang out in the garage with the others, if I am going to stay on track...
