Growing from Cooking Scraps

What you couldn't see in my previous post about this year's square foot garden are the onions I am growing from the end of the onion, which usually end up as a cooking scrap. From what I understand, the bottom 1/4 or 1/3 of an onion can be sprouted, divided, and planted. Five months later, they should be whole new onions! It will be amazing if it works!

From this...
...to this!
In this glass are two red onion bulb-lets, three white onion bulb-lets, and two scallions - all cooking scraps that are regrowing! Thanks to Chef Pink for sharing the post that gave the tip to grow these. I can't wait to see if the onions really grow into new bulbs!
